Parallel to via del Babbuino, one of the three streets that like a trident leave from Piazza del Popolo, is Via Margutta, a narrow, elegant street placed in the ancient Campo Marzio neighborhood. Unexpectedly, like many other streets of Rome that now are inhabited by very wealthy people, Via Margutta originally was home to modest craftsmen, workshops and stables. The change in its status is clearly visible, walking for its 400 meters dotted with many art galleries, elegant restaurants and luxury hotels.
The street became very famous during the boom of the Italian movie industry, when Cinecitta' and Rome itself became the favorite sets from hollywood. The one movie that brought via Margutta to fame was the unforgettable Roman Holiday with Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck. Talking about the cinema, it is interesting to know that on this street world famous Italian director Federico Fellini lived, together with his beloved wife Giulietta Masina.
Usually sponsored by the Mayor and the Province of Rome (Lazio),the expo attracts lots of Romans, tourists and art lovers, since it's here that more or less formally new artists, chosen by a multi-national jury of art critics, can be discovered.
By booking with us the tour "Villa Borghese and Posh Areas", via Margutta will be one of the various beautiful streets that will become our charming and compelling Roman photography set.
