By www.romephotofuntours.com The very thin line that one can hardly see in this photo, in between the ground and the sky, is Lake Turkana. The boy, obviously the real subject of the picture, dressed only with an oversized jacket and old sandals, is one of the few children living on the shores of the lake. Like every morning he walks several kilometers to go from his tiny village on the lake, to Loyangalani, the main village in the area, on the south tip of the lake. I photographed him during the photo reportage I did in 2009 to document the life of some traditional tribes, still living around Lake Turkana. Forty photos from that reportage, later on, formed the selected material for the photo exhibition “Life on Lake Turkana”.
Great great picture and dense story. Thank yiu for sharing your work!
